Sophie and David kiss.
Sophie was a less-than-honest aspiring actress who appeared in the ninth season, when she befriended and briefly lived with Steve Sanders. Despite knowing that Steve had a crush on Sophie, a reluctant David began a secret relationship with her. Once this matter was unveiled, the friendship between the two men became briefly strained. Ultimately, though, the two made up while talking the issue out, with David declaring that the long-standing friendship was more important to him. At this point, Sophie had left both of their lives and continued her show business pursuits.

Theories

Identity

As Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place exist within the same continuity, the casting of Laura Leighton in the role was seen as a bizarre move by the producers, as she had had already made a name for herself playing Sydney Andrews, a major character from Melrose Place. However, after it is revealed in the 2009 revival of Melrose Place that Sydney was alive, having faked her death in 1997, rumors sparked that Sophie Burns could have been Sydney Andrews all along.

Tracy Gaylian, played by Jill Elizabeth Novick, is a recurring character seen on Beverly Hills, 90210, the first series of the Beverly Hills, 90210 continuity, appearing in the seventh and eighth seasons.
Tracy was the news anchor at the California University news station and was hired by Mark Reese and Brandon Walsh. After a short time, Tracy and Brandon started spending time together. Before long, they had become romantically involved, though Brandon was gun shy with relationships when they met. They quarreled over several things, most notably Brandon not inviting Tracy to go to Hong Kong and visit his parents, Jim and Cindy Walsh, when he had an extra ticket. She did, however go on the trip.
She often suspected that Brandon was not yet over his old girlfriend Kelly, and this was confirmed when Brandon eventually broke up with her. Tracy was briefly seen again in the eighth season, and it was revealed that she'd met a new man, Eric Anderson, become engaged, and was moving to Hawaii.

Joe Bradley, played by Cameron Bancroft, is a recurring character seen on Beverly Hills, 90210, the first series of the Beverly Hills, 90210 continuity. He appeared in 23 episodes during the sixth season.
Joe was the California University football team quarterback who dated Donna Martin. On the night of their first date on Halloween, Donna was confronted at her beach house by Ray Pruit, her former abusive boyfriend with whom she had recently ended her relationship. Joe came to her defense, tossing Ray around in self-defense.
During Thanksgiving, which happens to be Joe's birthday, Donna arranges for 49ers QB Steve Young to surprise Joe. Because Young apparently could skip practice that day and also had no family or friends he wanted to spend the holiday with, he actually showed up to Casa Walsh and played an impromptu game with the gang on the front lawn using the football he autographed for Joe.
On the same episode, Donna tells Kelly that she loves Joe so much, she wants to sleep with him.
Joe later revealed to Donna that he was also a virgin and, like her, was waiting for marriage to have sex. He had also been engaged to his high school girlfriend, who had gotten too wild for him after they graduated. He was a devout Christian lived a life of faith.
Despite Joe's and Donna's growing attraction, Ray was having a hard time letting go of Donna and chose to file assault charges against Joe for their fight on Halloween.
When Ray sues Joe for breaking his arm, this causes Donna to revel to her parents that she was in an abuisive relationship with Ray. She later has to explain in open court what happen in Palm Springs. Valerie also testifies to seing Ray push Donna down the stairs in Palm Springs.
Although the case went to court, Brandon Walsh, while reporting on the case nationally for the Associated Press (AP), he interviews Joe and later convinced Ray that he was hurting Donna and Ray told the truth in court and left town.
Joe was later diagnosed with a rare heart defect by Donna's father. He sought a second opinion, in which the doctor cleared him for future football games. Joe was elated, but soon realized something was wrong when he became short of breath following a run and fainted after going on a test flight with Brandon WalshSteve Sanders, and Jonathan Casten.
He eventually chose to take a coaching position in his hometown of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and asked Donna to accompany him. She ultimately declined, as her own pursuits were still in Beverly Hills. The couple shared an affectionate farewell before going their separate ways.
